Funeral - Celebration of Life Photography - Northern VA, DC & Maryland

Sometimes having a photographer at a funeral or a burial seems like a weird idea. But when everything is said and done and the viewing, burial and repast are over, you realize you’ve created more memories with family & friends, but you have little to remember them with. I too, was skeptical the first time I covered this type of event, but after a few I realized they aren’t so bad. Death, is an inevitable part of life and while it isn’t always a joyous occasion, some of the memories created during these times and maybe that very last photo of your loved one might be one you cherish for years to come. The family who had me cover this event were thankful they reached out to me to capture these moments one last time. These pictures bring the memories of this celebration of life, ‘back to life’ once again and that in itself is priceless. As you can see from the flowers and bow, the gentleman below was a loyal Redskins fan until the end. Rest In Peace Mr. Pittman. If you’re comfortable with this and you like what you see, hire a photographer for your next celebration of life, even if it isn’t me.
